The power of dance never grows old!

Bespoke, inclusive and fun sessions bringing dance to all

About Us
Imagination Dance CIC was founded in 2018 to provide dance opportunities for those
who are rarely offered them. We regularly work in the community, providing sessions for older people; those with long-term conditions such as Dementia and Parkinson's; children and adults with learning and/or physical disabilities; and many more! As well as hosting our own timetable of classes, we provide bespoke sessions within care homes; adult day services; schools; Dementia support groups; and other organisations.

If you think your group could benefit from a bespoke session with us - get in touch today!

Classes

Sessions available as one offs or block bookings. Options available for seated & standing classes.

Movement to Music: Care Homes
Our Movement to Music: Care Homes sessions are specifically designed for those living in a care home, with or without Dementia. These sessions are centred around
 sequence dances, using
 music and repetition to
ignite memories and emotions
in our participants. We can provide these sessions in care homes; day services; or Dementia support groups.
Movement for Memory
Our Movement for Memory classes are aimed at those who have memory loss or cognitive impairment, and are perfect for those with Parkinson's, Dementia or MS. We focus on dance-based routines and exercises to improve strength, balance mobility and co-ordination.
Inclusive Dance

Using a range of music, from
current pop songs to classic rock
‘n’ roll we create simple to follow
routines that can be done whether
you are able bodied, use a frame or
walker, or in a power or manual
wheelchair. Suitable for Day Services, SEND groups or schools, and much more!
Movement to Music
Our Movement to Music classes are specifically tailored
to the participants - we explore all different styles of dance! Aimed at the Over 60s, these classes are suitable for all 'mature movers' and focus on balance, co-ordination and flexibility. We help to fight loneliness with our social time at the end of each class. Contact us to

Bishop's Stortford Day Service
Understanding, care, humour and fun...the session proved to be a hit and we look forward to welcoming Hannah every month. She shows a wonderful understanding of our lovely attendees and the energy and enjoyment she brings has been fantastic to see. We are always excited for her next date with us and would highly recommend Imagination Dance.
All Sorts Dementia Group, Ware
Daisy's confidence and co-ordination have grown enormously and she really looks forward to taking part each week...I would definitely recommend you to anyone looking for a fun and relaxed dance class in the area!

Everyone at Hertswise (clients and staff alike!) always look forward to Hannah’s sessions. They are fun and completely inclusive. Everyone can join in, learn something new and have a giggle!

I love the dance classes and, apart from giving us much needed exercise, they also give us fun. We can laugh at each other and Harriet is very patient with us. She makes it worthwhile coming along!
Movement to Music participant, Sharnbrook
Hannah is absolutely great with the service users, she makes them laugh which in itself is a great thing. She knows all their names and she is helping them with movement! She is not only helping them, but helping me as well - because of my age it is good for me, to the point I find myself doing the moves in my car!
Agate House Leonard Cheshire, Ampthill
Imagination Dance have been giving sessions here at Garden City for over a year now and the service users are still enjoying this. Hannah is always on time, very friendly towards all service users and has got to know them all individually , Hannah knows what type of songs to put on and the exercises to go with them. They all look forward to Hannah coming and are left in a happy and contented mood. We would highly recommend Imagination Dance.
Garden City Day Service, Welwyn Garden City
We have been having Keep Fit Sessions with Hannah from Imagination Dance for some time now and all our elderly clients, most of which have Dementia in various stages, absolutely love this activity. Hannah tailors her music and movements to the ability of our clients and she makes keep fit so much fun that they feel like they are dancing while sitting in their chairs rather that actually doing keep fit, which incidentally ,they all used to not really want to do. She is so bubbly, makes them laugh as well as showing them what to do, plays music that they all love and I can’t praise her enough. Thank you Imagination Dance.
Voluntary Welfare Association Day Centre, St Neots
I thoroughly enjoy the dance class every week. It’s great fun learning the different movements and routines, good for the body and also the brain to remember the routines! I especially enjoy the choice of music. Hannah is always cheerful and helpful and we all have a good laugh, which is also good for us! Long may it continue.
Movement to Music participant, Northill
I find the Movement to Music classes, run by Skye, very sociable, enjoyable and very worthwhile.
Movement to Music participant, Little Hadham
We have now worked with Imagination Dance on occasions for over a year, and Hannah brings such great energy to all of our community groups that she visits. All of our groups across the county love the dance, and even for some individuals that may not like dance it gets them moving, tapping along, singing and smiling through activities. It is great to see some of the quieter individuals getting involved too that may not necessarily engage otherwise. All of the dances and movements are suitable for the group ability, adaptable and inclusive for everyone to have a go. Thanks so much for coming along to our groups!
Hertswise, Age UK
Hannah and her team at Imagination Dance have been working with our service users, creating an active dance session for all levels of ability. It's one of our most looked forward to sessions with both staff and service users, and delivers a fun experience with the benefits of exercise thrown in as well. Hannah is excellent at leading the group through lots of great music, choreographing dance steps that are dynamic yet suitable for all. A great company which adds lots of enjoyment to our service!
Leydon House Day Service, Stevenage
Really love Hannah's classes; for ladies (and men if they dare!) they are a perfect combination of exercise and dance. We start each class with warm-up exercises to a background of fabulous tunes from the 1940s up to the present day. Followed by a different dance routine every week covering all styles - rock 'n roll, cha cha, Bollywood, traditional jazz to name but a few. We finish off with a cooling down exercise and a lovely cuppa! These routines not only help to keep you fit, but also keep your mind/memory sharp.
It is an opportunity to keep active and at the same time have fun and meet new people in a friendly environment. Why not come and join us? You don't have to be fantastic dancers/movers, we are a friendly bunch and you'd be made very welcome.
Movement to Music participant, Langford
We had a lovely session with Imagination Dance. We had a group of 9 patients who all have long term conditions and their abilities were varied. All joined in and all were smiling and singing, and thoroughly enjoyed the session. It certainly lifted their spirits. The staff too were all impressed and remarked about how animated the patients were during the session.
Bedford Daycare Hospice, Bedford
I have been coming to the Movement to Music class in Langford since it started in September 2018. It is great fun with warm up exercises and different dance moves each week. It is also a very social event. Hannah and her team are very knowledgeable and there is no pressure on anyone to do anything they feel they aren’t comfortable/able to do. I would highly recommend this class to anyone who feels they need to get moving in a gentle enjoyable way, and there is tea, coffee and biscuits to finish, what more could you ask for?!
Movement to Music participant, Langford
That was a brilliant session! That's the best I've got Tom to engage with anything we've done online. He had a few little blips but overall he loved it!! Thank you so much! It's certainly the most I've got him moving about, so it was great for him. Thank you so very much to you and your colleagues. Absolutely brilliant.
